Experience My India strongly recommends travel insurance for every trip, but does not sell or issue policies — cover is arranged with a licensed insurer of your choice. We can tell you what to look for given the specific itinerary you're booking, but the terms, price and claims process are the insurer's, confirmed directly with them.
We recommend it; we don't sell it
Travel insurance is listed as an exclusion on every one of our tour packages, and we say so plainly rather than including a policy we don't actually provide. Terms, pricing and what is and isn't covered are set by the insurer you choose, confirmed directly with them — not quoted or promised here.
What to check for, given your itinerary
- Medical evacuation cover, especially for high-altitude itineraries like Ladakh or the Char Dham trek
- Trip cancellation cover, matched against our own cancellation windows so the two don't leave a gap
- Adventure-activity cover if your trip includes rafting, trekking or safaris
- Cover for the specific countries/regions your policy needs to include, if you're travelling on to or from elsewhere
Your own responsibility
You are responsible for arranging valid travel insurance, along with valid travel documents, visas and any required vaccinations. We advise where we can, but entry, health and insurance requirements are yours to meet, confirmed with the relevant authority or insurer directly.
Frequently asked questions
Do you sell travel insurance?
No. We recommend it strongly and can tell you what to look for given your itinerary, but the policy itself is arranged directly with a licensed insurer of your choice.
Is travel insurance included in your tour packages?
No — it is explicitly listed as an exclusion on every package, so there is no ambiguity about it being bundled in.
Do I need special cover for a high-altitude trip like Ladakh?
We recommend checking specifically for medical evacuation cover at altitude — not every standard policy includes it, and Ladakh's remoteness makes evacuation genuinely more complex than in the plains.
What happens if I cancel my trip and don't have insurance?
Our own cancellation policy still applies as published on each package; without insurance, any cancellation charge under that policy is not separately recoverable.
