Kasol Travel Guide

Kasol sits in Himachal Pradesh's Parvati Valley, a short drive beyond Kullu and Manali, and has grown from a small village into one of North India's best-known backpacker stops, popular for its riverside cafes and easy access to gentle Himalayan trekking. It is a laid-back, low-key base rather than a sightseeing destination in itself, and most visitors use it as a springboard for walks further up the valley.

April to June and September to November are the comfortable months; the valley gets cold and can see snow in winter, and the monsoon brings landslide risk on the local roads. Two to three days is enough to settle into the village and manage a day walk or the Kheerganga trek if you have the time.
