Pre-dawn departure
We collect you very early to maximise time in Jaipur given the drive.
Amber Fort
The hilltop fort-palace outside the city, usually the first stop.
Hawa Mahal and old city
A photo stop and short walk around the Pink City's most recognisable facade, plus a quick look at the bazaars if time allows.
Return to Delhi
Departing Jaipur by late afternoon to avoid arriving back in Delhi too late.
A same-day return drive from Delhi to Jaipur, the Pink City, focused on Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal, the two sights that fit reliably into the time available. It is a long day given the distance, and we are upfront that it is the most demanding of the day trips on this list.
Because of the drive time, many travellers use this page to decide between a genuine day trip and an overnight, and end up choosing the latter once they see the numbers.
- This is genuinely one of the longer single-day trips we run — be realistic about how much sightseeing time it leaves.
- An overnight in Jaipur, even just one night, transforms this into a comfortable visit with time for the City Palace and Jantar Mantar as well.
- Traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur highway varies by time of day; we plan departure times to minimise it.
Best season and starting point
A very long single day, typically 14 to 16 hours door to door. Best October to March; the combination of long car hours and summer heat from April to June makes this route particularly draining in that season.
Can I really see Jaipur in one day from Delhi?
You can see Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal, the two headline sights, but it is a long day with little room for anything else. If your schedule allows even one night, an overnight gives a far better visit.
Why not just take the train?
Trains exist on this route, but the schedule and station-to-sight transfers rarely save meaningful time over a private car for this specific distance, so most travellers still choose to drive.
What can I add if I stay overnight instead?
The City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory, and proper time in the bazaars, plus a more relaxed pace at Amber Fort itself.

5/51 week agoBooking was easy and the communication was clear at every step. No hard selling, no last-minute shop stops, just a full day of the things we actually came to see.

4/51 month agoReally enjoyable day. The guide was knowledgeable and funny. It did run about forty minutes over, which mattered because we had a train to catch, but they got us there with minutes to spare.

4/52 months agoA lovely, well-organised trip. Only small gripe is that the morning pickup was fifteen minutes late on day one. Everything after that was punctual to the minute, so I suspect it was a one-off.

3/53 months agoMixed feelings. The sites were spectacular and the driver excellent, but our guide's English was harder to follow than we expected and we missed some of the detail. The office apologised quickly when we mentioned it.
