A Rajasthan family tour builds around the region's genuinely exciting side for older children and teens: fort ramparts to explore at Amber, Jodhpur or Jaisalmer, a camel safari into the Thar Desert dunes, a night in a desert camp under the stars, and a folk music and dance evening at a heritage haveli.
Because Rajasthan's cities are further apart than Kerala's stops, this circuit involves longer car days — worth knowing before booking, and something we plan around with rest stops and entertainment for the drive.

Best season and starting point
Typically nine to twelve days to cover the main cities and the desert at a manageable pace with children. Best October to March; the desert is extremely hot April to June.
Is this suitable for young children?
It works best for children roughly eight and older, given the longer drives and more physical fort visits. For younger children, Kerala's gentler circuit is usually the better choice.
