This ten-day tour extends the classic Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — north to Amritsar for the Golden Temple and the Wagah border ceremony, combining North India's best-known monuments with Punjab's most significant Sikh pilgrimage site.
Golden Triangle, then north to Amritsar
This itinerary runs the Golden Triangle first — Delhi, an overnight in Agra for a sunrise Taj visit, and Jaipur — then adds a leg north to Amritsar for the Golden Temple, one of the most moving pilgrimage sites in the country regardless of faith, and the evening Wagah border ceremony.
Is a head covering required at the Golden Temple?
Yes, for everyone regardless of faith — head coverings are provided at the entrance if you don't have your own, and shoes are left at the free cloakroom.
What is the Wagah border ceremony?
A daily flag-lowering ceremony at the India–Pakistan border near Amritsar, with a well-known display of marching and crowd energy on both sides. It draws large crowds; we arrange seating access where possible.
Can this trip be shortened by dropping Amritsar?
Yes, back to the standard six-day Golden Triangle; ask and we will re-quote.

5/51 month agoPerfect balance of monuments and everyday life — a spice market, a morning at a ghat, then the big sights in the afternoon light. Our guide read the group well and adjusted the pace.

5/51 month agoOur guide knew every corner and never rushed us. He noticed my mother was tiring and quietly found a shaded bench and a chai before we even asked. Small things like that made the whole day.

5/52 months agoSunrise start was worth the alarm. We were through the gates before the crowds and had almost twenty minutes with the place nearly to ourselves. The driver was waiting exactly where he said he would be.
