This ten-day tour pairs Srinagar's Dal Lake and Mughal gardens with Ladakh's high-altitude landscapes — Leh, Nubra Valley over Khardung La, and Pangong Lake — connected either by the Srinagar–Leh highway or a short flight, one of the great Himalayan overland routes when travelling by road.
Kashmir's lakes, then Ladakh's high passes
Kashmir and Ladakh sit side by side on the map but feel like different countries — Srinagar's lakes and gardens against Ladakh's high-altitude, near-desert landscapes. This ten-day version gives three nights to Srinagar and Kashmir's valleys, then continues into Ladakh, either overland on the Srinagar–Leh highway (roughly two days' drive, road-condition dependent) or by a short flight, followed by proper acclimatisation before Nubra and Pangong.
Do you travel between Srinagar and Leh by road or by air?
It depends on season and your dates — the Srinagar–Leh highway is open roughly late May to October/November and is a spectacular two-day drive over high passes; outside that window, or if you prefer to save time, we book a short flight instead. (confirmed on enquiry)
Is the altitude change from Srinagar to Leh a health risk?
Yes, genuinely — Leh sits around 3,500m and altitude sickness is a real risk regardless of how the previous days in Kashmir (much lower altitude) felt. We build in a rest day on arrival in Leh before any further activity.
Can this trip be done in the other direction, Leh first then Srinagar?
Yes, and for some travellers it works better logistically; we can flip the order depending on flight availability and your preference.

5/54 days agoWe asked for a slower pace because of a bad knee and they rebuilt the day around it without any drama — fewer steps, more sitting, same highlights. That flexibility is why I would book again.

5/51 month agoTiming was spot on — we hit the fort in the soft morning light and were back at the hotel before the afternoon heat became unbearable. Clearly a team that has done this many, many times.

5/52 months agoEverything was arranged before we landed — driver, guide, tickets, even the entry slot. We just turned up. The car was clean, cold water in the back, and the driver was calm in traffic that would have terrified me.

5/53 months agoSunrise start was worth the alarm. We were through the gates before the crowds and had almost twenty minutes with the place nearly to ourselves. The driver was waiting exactly where he said he would be.
