This eight-day Ladakh tour builds in the acclimatisation Leh's altitude requires — two easy days before crossing Khardung La to Nubra Valley and on to Pangong Lake — with the extra days used for Tso Moriri rather than compressing the itinerary. At this altitude, a rushed schedule is the surest way to spend the trip unwell.
Acclimatise properly, then go further
Five to seven days is the minimum for a first Ladakh trip; eight lets you add Tso Moriri without rushing. The plan starts with two full days acclimatising in and around Leh before any drive over a high pass, then Nubra Valley over Khardung La, a night on the shore of Pangong Lake, and a push further to Tso Moriri's remote blue water before returning to Leh.
Why does the itinerary spend two full days in Leh before any pass?
Leh sits at about 3,500m, and altitude sickness is the main risk in Ladakh. Two days of gentle, same-altitude activity before crossing a high pass significantly reduces that risk, which is why we do not compress it even for travellers who feel fine on arrival.
When are the roads to Nubra and Pangong open?
Roughly late May to October. Outside that window Khardung La and the other high passes are closed by snow.
Can I fly into Leh with a pre-existing heart or lung condition?
Speak to your doctor first. The altitude is a genuine medical consideration, not a marketing caveat, and we ask every traveller with a relevant condition to get medical advice before booking.
Is mobile connectivity available in Ladakh?
It is limited. Only postpaid SIMs on certain Indian networks work reliably in parts of Ladakh; do not plan on constant connectivity through the trip.

5/51 week agoWe had a wheelchair user in our group and the team planned every stop around step-free routes without us having to chase. That level of care is rare. Highly recommended for families.

4/51 month agoVery good day out. Guide was knowledgeable and the driver excellent. The only reason it is not five stars is that the lunch break felt too long when we would rather have seen one more site.

5/51 month agoThe Ladakh Tour was booked at short notice and they still pulled everything together — driver, entry slot, and a guide who had clearly briefed himself on what we were interested in. Impressive.
